HØNS! is Dokkemand's debut full-length on Other Electricities, featuring contributions by Universal Records artist Kate Havnevik, legendary Cranes vocalist Alison Shaw, Laura Becerra from Carrie (Static Discos), Sarah Hellstrom (Lost Room), and Lars Wiik. Throughout, Marius utilizes his unique palette in varying configurations, creating rhythmic landscapes amply dappled with vocal-characters. Rounded out by manipulated samples - the commonplace rendered ethereal, this collection stretches perceptions and expectations alongside tones and timbres.
Dokkemand Dokkemand is the alias of Marius Grotterud Egenes, a Norwegian musician of destructive proportions. Also a prominent remixer, Marius has been leaving laptops in stitches as Dokkemand since early 2005. Walking the line between calculated restraint and frenzied, arcade-tronic attacks, his output reveals much about the importance of tension in composition. Broken-hip-hop beat collages accompanied by an orchestra of disheveled music boxes, somber, glitch-laden balladry, and minimal, warped ambience are all fair in this game.
